March 2014!

March was a great month! It was my birthday, Spring Break and National Craft Month so needless to say it was BUSY! The beginning of the month we drove down to Provo to say goodbye to Awesome's parents because we were so sick the week that they left that we never got to say goodbye. And Provo was really only a 5-6 hour drive and the kids did AMAZING in the car. We got in around dinner time and went out to dinner with them and Awesome's brother who also lives in Provo. It was a great night.

While also in Salt Lake we were able to go to Ikea! My fave store ever. Awesome's least favorite. But he went anyway and I was able to get some craft project items that I had been wanting so I was stoked about that.
We also were able to see some friends before heading home which was so nice. The last time we were able to see them Ky was only a few months old! Way too long.

The rest of the month for my was focused on crafts (see my crafting blog for more updates on what I made and how!) There were a few contests going on so I was very busy with those. I also had a birthday in there, but once you are over 21 birthdays are really just another day. Especially when you have kids.
We did some reorganizing for Spring Cleaning. Lil Man has stopped napping so he needed some books, puzzles and "quiet" toys in his room for quiet time. So we made his bed a bunk bed again and moved some toys and storage up to his room which helped make room for the new stuff I wanted in the playroom. Here are Princess and Lil Man playing in his room!

And here is the playroom! (Which is now probably my favorite room in the house!) I found that easel at Ikea for only $14! I'm so excited to use it. Haven't gotten there yet. But soon.

And that little play kitchen? Craigslist for $20! It came with a ton of extras, like food, pots/pans, AND a musical tea set! Tea Parties are in my future and I'm so excited about it! Also check out that reading corner! All finished and I LOVE IT!

But I will have to say that my favorite part of March was when my family came out for Spring Break! My little bro and sis are seniors in high school this year so tearing them away from their friends was a sacrifice on their part but I'm so glad they came! We went to the zoo:

And my favorite part of their stay was driving out to the BLM land to go shooting! It was the first time we've been out there and it was a blast!

I love my family. Those near and far. I'm so grateful for the gospel and that our family is forever.

February in a Post

February in our house had some highs and lows for us... The beginning of the month was actually pretty good! We geared up for Valentines Day which was a success:

Just adorable! And both munchkins were fairly cooperative which is always a nice bonus!!

Meanwhile Awesome's parents are getting closer and closer to leaving for Provo and then the plague hit our house... Okay maybe it wasn't really the plague but it was horrible. It started first for Wildman the Saturday before my in laws were leaving. He came into our room saying he got sick in his bed ad sure enough he DID. We got out the portable toddler cot (one of the best investments we've made) and set it up in our room. We got him all cleaned up and changed, got a bucket, and no sooner did we do that he got sick over everything we had just laid out and his new clothes. We re-did everything again and same thing about 20-30 minutes later. We were very quickly running out of towels and extra sheets. We decided instead of just changing him again we would try a bath. He even got sick in the bath but at least I was prepared with a bucket to catch this time. After the bath, I got him dressed and him back on the bed in our room and had a prompting to go check on Princess. (By this time Awesome had already left for work :-/ ) The first thing I noticed when I opened her door was the smell... I went to her and Lil Princess was lying face-down in a big pile of sick and my heart stopped. Worst fears were racing through my head until I saw her move then I knew she was just fast asleep. I got her up and in the tub. Once she was cleaned up, I stripped her bed... Now the 4 or 5 load waiting for the washer. Yuck. This was my life for the next two weeks.

Let me take a quick moment and just be incredibly grateful for my washer and dryer. Especially in times like these.
Side note: it's March 15 & I'm STILL not caught up on the laundry from this. One day...
Ok focus.

So this sickmaggedon lasted in our house 9 days for each person and cycled through everyone. Vomiting, diarrhea, more and more random bouts of vomiting. I'm not sure if I left the house during that time. And to make it all worse, Awesome's parents left for Provo and we never got to say goodbye.

This was towards the end... Poor kid you can see how tired and sick he still looks.
The Princess on the other hand bounced back!

The end of February was not great. I'm grateful to Awesome's Mama who even though her plate was FULL packing and preparing for her mission... She STILL was willing to drop off some "feel better goodies" from the store. She is an incredible and selfless woman and I don't know what I'm going to do without her for 12 months!!!

This takes us all the way in to March... Stay tuned!

January in a Post!

Was really a busy month. We recovered from Christmas... And the illness it brought with it. We found out Awesome's parents got their mission call to Houston Texas but most importantly they we're leaving in only 6 weeks: March 3rd.

I knew it was coming. I should have been prepared for it. But a report date that soon really didn't give me too much time to really prepare myself that we/I was going to be alone here in our new town. Luckily, I've met some really great new people that are truly making the transition that much easier.

On with the rest of the month. Most of it I spent keeping myself busy and trying not to spend money. So hard. But with Little Princess's birthday coming up I took to Pinterest to find some DIY decorations and stuff I could make myself to make her 1st bday special. First project I took on was a "Chalkboard" style Birthday board... But instead for writing it out with chalk and stencils like my amazing best friend did for her daughter's 1st bday, I decided to use my new Cricut (thanks Mom!)
All in all I am pretty pleased, with how it all turned out. It was very time consuming but the Princess is worth it. Here are the rest of her crib decorations:

Just so that I could get this birthday picture: ... Again so worth it!

Here are some party shots, including her owl cupcake cake (my other pride and joy):

Happy 1st Birthday Princess!

We Moved! (Six Months ago…)

First, We've MOVED! From San Diego CA to Meridian IDAHO. Wow what a change. We moved in to our new house just about six months ago, and we LOVE it. It's awesome. and Huge. We left behind our 900sqft 2 bed 2 bath condo with No Yard at all, and upgraded to a 4 bed 3 bath 2600sqft AMAZING house with a great yard and playground included! Here are some pictures of our new house!
It's gorgeous. Yard work is a new chore to add to the list but I'm so glad to have a yard!

Alex picked this house out all by himself, put in an offer, AND bought it before I even got to see it in person. Now that's trust! He did good.

Here is the backyard. HUGE! and it has a garden! Can't wait for next season to plant some goodies!

And of course the Playground…its a huge hit.

From way too hot 112 degrees in the summer to our to 0 degrees this winter… We've had a tough time adjusting from our constant 70 degree San Diego weather! But we'll get there!

We LOVE our new home. Alex/Dad, you picked out a great one for us. We will be happy here for many years to come! Plenty of room for a growing family and our crazy canine. More adventures to come…

(Sidenote…I'm terrible at this… Hopefully the next one will actually be a current event. No Promises)
